When we were here last time, there were very few places to shop.  There were a few grocery stores and then there was Ashraf's.  It was a really nice store and now there are 2 here in Bahrain.  One is in the Souq and this is the original one.  It used to be by itself, now it is in the middle of a very busy shopping area.  Also, there were no malls when we lived here.  Now  there are many.  This is just one of them.

Al A'Aali Mall 

There is also the Seef Mall.  Across the street from it is a Chili's and they just opened a Bennigan's.  They are very popular with the young crowd on Thursday night.  (like a Sat night here in Bahrain, since Friday is the Holy Day)
