Shawn had decided he wanted to ask Sara to marry him. He had already asked her parents but had not said anything to Sara.
 She had gone home to Minnesota for  Christmas with her family and was due back the day after Christmas.  Shawn wanted to ask her right away when she got off the plane.  H worked all day to make the "perfect" sign.  He then took it to the airport to surprise her.
